How many fan headers does the asus maxiumus septet hero possess and are these 4 pin or 3 bowling pin?
Also, if i have 3 fans, is there an adapter that can pull through use only one of the fan sockets on the motherboard?

Those are connected to the PSU finished a hub, but don't receive a controller. If you use those, your fans are going to be maxed knocked out regular. If you don't care about make noise or ascendance, function the case sports fan leads. If you want to be healthy to control them, you'll need to tie in them to the mobo Beaver State install an aftermarket fan control.

The Hero VII has two Mainframe fan headers (CPU_Fan and CPU_Opt) and quadruplet case fan headers. All of them are 4-pin, just only the CPU headers are PWM.

Are the 3 fans PWM fans or regular 3-pin fans?

The Hero VII has two CPU winnow headers (CPU_Fan and CPU_Opt) and four case winnow headers. All of them are 4-immobilise, but only the C.P.U. headers are PWM.

Are the 3 fans PWM fans or regular 3-immobilize fans?

They are 3 corsair af120's quiet edition and a af140 tranquillise edition, non bound if they are PWM or not. But will they plug in ok? Besides if plugged into the motherboard without the PWM, does that mean they will be running at 12v e'er?

An adapter isn't incumbent per se - you fire plug a 3-pin fan into the 4-pin physique fan headers and they'll work evenhanded fine through voltage control. A fan splitter, along the former hired hand, would be necessary. However, if these are 3-pin fans, dependent on their power requirements you mightiness be able to run off three fans murder united header, but it's not a great idea. Improved to get under one's skin extenders and plug each unmatchable into IT's own header, or at least limit the act to 2 on a single cope.

If they're PWM fans and jamesellis wants to run them all off a PWM header, Akasa makes a PWM divider that would work. It's powered from the PSU and controlled from the cope. Won't work for 3-pin fans though - they'll just run at 100% all the time.

They are 3 Barbary pirate af120's quiet version and a af140 quiet edition, non sure if they are PWM surgery not. But volition they plug in ok? Also if plugged into the motherboard without the PWM, does that mean they will be running at 12v always?

They'll work just fine plugged into the chassis buff headers. The plugs themselves will just occupy 3 of the 4 pins on the header. You can use AI Suite's Fan Xpert to control the speeds through voltage adjustment. I've got that control panel and presently have 4-pin PWM and 3-pin non-PWM fans running, as intimately equally the PWM fans happening my Central processing unit ice chest that are connected to the CPU headers.

An adapter isn't necessary per se - you can jade a 3-immobilize buff into the 4-pin chassis fan headers and they'll work fair-minded fine finished voltage control. A fan splitter, on the other hand, would follow necessary. Yet, if these are 3-pin fans, depending on their superpowe requirements you might comprise able to run trio fans off one header, but it's not a of import idea. Better to get extenders and plug each unrivalled into it's own lintel, or at least limit the keep down to two on a man-to-man header.

If they'Ra PWM fans and jamesellis wants to run them wholly off a PWM header, Akasa makes a PWM splitter that would work on. Information technology's high-powered from the PSU and limited from the header. Won't work for 3-pin fans though - they'll just run at 100% all the clock time.

The display case I'm using is the NZXT H440, which has a fan splitter for about 8 fans at the back off powered past the psu, sol would i just be better to use this?

Also to add to my previous substance, ill be running os x.

Those are connected to the PSU direct a hub, but don't induce a controller. If you use those, your fans are sledding to be maxed out regular. If you don't care about interference or control condition, use the lawsuit lover leads. If you wish to be able to control them, you'll need to connect them to the mobo or install an aftermarket winnow control.
